Charakteristika
The Prague-Airport-Kladno railway connection project is one step closer to its goal. Following the reconstruction of the Negrelli Viaduct and the opening of the Kladno-Kladno Ostrovec section, this is the third step. Like the previous two steps, this one is not very long either. The distance from Bubny to Stromovka is approximately 1.7 km. In our opinion, however, the station in Bubny, the stop at Výstaviště, and the flyover between them are truly successful.
Praha Bubny railway station
The spatial and layout design of the Praha-Bubny railway station with four tracks is determined by the lines towards the airport/Kladno and Kralupy. The height design is based on the connecting Negrelli Viaduct on the south side and the grade-separated crossing with the tram line. On the north side, it is based on the connecting flyovers, crossing Nicolas Winton Street (the urban axis of Veletržní - Dělnická) and Bubenská Street at different levels. The railway station has three vestibules (SOUTH, CENTER, and NORTH) and allows a direct and comfortable transfer to metro line C and trams.
Praha Bubny - Praha Výstaviště bridge complex
From the perspective of the future urban structure of the city, the construction of new viaduct connecting the Prague-Bubny railway station with the Prague-Výstaviště stop was crucial, as it removed the barrier of the original Buštěhradská railway fill and opened up possibilities for further transport connections. A new bicycle/pedestrian connection between Veletržní and Dělnická streviaducts also frees up space for the start of the urbanization of the Bubny-Holešovice-Zátory brownfield (in accordance with the zoning study) and related projects by other investors, including the possible use of the space under the viaducts in the form of planned "built-in" structures.
Praha Výstaviště railway stop
A brand new stop on the Prague - Airport - Kladno railway line has been designed with the potential to serve Stromovka Park, the Exhibition Grounds and the adjacent part of Holešovice, with a direct and convenient transfer from the (sub)urban railway to trams. Unlike previous designs, the stop is located outside the bridge over Dukelských hrdinů Street, in its immediate vicinity.
