Charakteristika

The subject of the competition was the architectural and urban design of a multimodal transport terminal on the planned high-speed railway line between Prague and Brno at the point of connection of the high-speed railway to the conventional line No. 225 Veselí nad Lužnicí – Havlíčkův Brod situated on the north of Jihlava near the D1 motorway. The design delt with the location and configuration of the departure building, transfer links, transport connections to the road infrastructure and public transport, P+R and K+R car parks, the setting of the building in the landscape and the design of the high-speed railway bridge over the highway D1 and the connecting elevated roads. The directional and altitudinal line of the railway lines and the required capacity of the building were firmly established by the specification.
